Quotes
====================================
"I love your choice of meeting place.  Skaro. The original planet of the Daleks. Look at the state of it." ~ The Eleventh Doctor

"Day three six three. The terror continues. Also, made another soufflé, very nearly. Check defences. They came again last night. Still always at night. Maybe they're vampires. Oh, and it's my mum's birthday. Happy birthday, mum. I did make you a soufflé, but it was too beautiful to live." ~ Oswin Oswald

"He's chosen the most defendable area in the room, counted all the Daleks, counted all the exits, and now he's calculating the exact distance we're standing apart and starting to worry. Oh, and look at him frowning now. Something's wrong with Amy and Rory, and who's going to fix it? And he straightens his bow tie." ~ Amy Pond

"Oh. Oh, that's good. That's brilliant. You're all too scared to go down there. Not one of you will go, so tell me, what do the Daleks do when they're too scared? " ~ The Eleventh Doctor

"Soufflés? Against the Daleks? Where'd you get the milk?" ~ The Eleventh Doctor

"Don't be fair to the Daleks when they're firing me at a planet." ~ The Eleventh Doctor

"Oh, Mister Grumpy. Bad combo. No sense of humour in that chin. Careful, dear. You'll put someone's eye out. " ~ Oswin Oswald

"Hang on to scared. Scared isn't Dalek." ~ The Eleventh Doctor

"Loving this. The nose and the chin. You two could fence." ~ Oswin Oswald

"And how are you going to do that, Dalek? Without a gun you're a tricycle with a roof. How are you going to destroy me?" ~ The Eleventh Doctor

"A junior entertainment manager hiding out in a wrecked ship, hacking the security systems of the most advanced warrior race the universe has ever seen. But you know what really gets me about you, Oswin? The soufflés. Where do you get milk for the soufflés? Seriously. Is no one else wondering about that? " ~ The Eleventh Doctor

"Rescue me, chin boy, and show me the stars." ~ Oswin Oswald

Trivia
====================================
 The presence of Jenna-Louise Coleman in this episode was successfully kept secret, despite the episode having several preview showings prior to broadcast. After broadcast, Coleman and Moffat both issued statements thanking fans and the media for keeping Coleman's debut - months before her official first episode, the 2012 Christmas special - a secret.

The Daleks in the intensive care section of the Asylum are survivors of encounters with the Doctor on planets such as Spiridon (Planet of the Daleks), Kembel (The Daleks' Master Plan), Aridius (The Chase), Vulcan (The Power of the Daleks), and Exxilon. (Death to the Daleks)

When the Doctor proceeds through the intensive care, Daleks from Spiridon, Kembel, Aridius, Vulcan & Exxilon, who survived the Doctor, are seen, however these are all shown to be dirty and corroded Time War Daleks, with the exception of one classic series Dalek shown when the Doctor runs out. These should be classic series Daleks of different eras. Indeed, this error appears countless times throughout the episode; despite being claimed to feature every type of Dalek ever seen, little to none of the classic-era Daleks are seen at all in "Asylum."

The Doctor is seen on Skaro. The planet was last seen on-screen in Doctor Who (despite its destruction in Remembrance of the Daleks). It has also appeared more recently in the Adventure Game City of the Daleks, in which it looks the same as it does in this episode, complete with acid rain.

The scenes on the Asylum surface were filmed during production of episode three, A Town Called Mercy in the Sierra Nevada mountains in Spain.

While the Doctor's referring to Daleks as "tricycles with roofs" is a sly reference to an early idea for how early Dalek models could move, it makes no sense from an in-universe perspective.
