Quotes
====================================
"Exactly. If that's not working then it means this writing is old. Very old. Impossibly old. We should find who's in charge. We've gone beyond the reach of the TARDIS’ knowledge—not a good move." ~ The Tenth Doctor

"In the Scriptures of the Valtino, this planet is called Krop Tor, "the bitter pill." And the black hole is supposed to be a mighty demon, who was tricked into devouring the planet. Only to spit it out, 'cause it was poison." ~ Ida

"There we go. D'you see? To generate that gravity field and the funnel you'd need a power source with an inverted self-extrapolating reflex of six to the power of six every six seconds." ~ The Tenth Doctor

"I'd have to settle down. Get a house or something, a proper house. With... doors and carpets. Me, living in a house. That, that, is terrifying." ~ The Tenth Doctor

"Oh, did you have to? 'No turning back.' That's almost as bad as, 'nothing can possibly go wrong' or 'This is going to be the best Christmas Walford's ever had..'" ~ The Tenth Doctor

"He has woven himself in the fabric of your life since the dawn of time. Some may call him Abaddon. Some may call him Krop Tor. Some may call him Satan. Or Lucifer. But do not despair. The Deathless Prince. The Bringer of Night. These are the words that shall set you free." ~ The Beast

Trivia
====================================
Before the Ood, the production team had considered Raxacoricofallapatorians being the servants on Sanctuary Base 6, but it was decided to use a new race when it emerged that the cost of repairing the Slitheen costumes was just as much as if the crew created new aliens from scratch.

The episode references the number 42 twice: it is set in the 42nd century, and the hallway containing Door 14 is numbered 42. In Series 3, another episode set in the 42nd century would be broadcast, which was called 42.
