The Master: Oh.

"Go? My dear chap, I don't want to go. I want to visit this fort here." ~  The Third Doctor

The 3rd Doctor: If Horatio Nelson had been in charge of this operation, I hardly think that he would have waited for official instructions.
Hart: Yes, a pretty impulsive fellow, if one can believe the history books.
The 3rd Doctor: History books? Captain Hart, Horatio Nelson was a personal friend of mine.

"Good grief. Poor chap's as mad as a hatter." ~ Captain Hart

"It is possible to turn a receiver into a transmitter, you know. It's simply a matter of modulating the signal. You use your loudspeaker as a microphone and there you are." ~ The Third Doctor

The Master: No doubt, Doctor, you're wondering why I sent for you?
The 3rd Doctor: Your usual childish desire to gloat, perhaps?

"Those reptiles, Doctor, were once the rulers of this Earth. And with my help, they can be so again." ~ The Master

Hart: Oh, I'm quite sure he has, Miss Grant.
Jo: In some caves in Derbyshire. You see, they want to take over the Earth

The 3rd Doctor: If you don't mind, I'd rather go down on my own.
Hart: Well, I presume you're a trained diver in addition to your other accomplishments then, Doctor?
The 3rd Doctor: Naturally. What's more, I know these creatures. I've encountered them before so I know what I'm looking for.

The 3rd Doctor: Your people went into hibernation and abandoned Earth to its fate.
Sea Devil: Our astronomers predicted that a great catastrophe would end all life on the face of the Earth.
The 3rd Doctor: Yes, but the catastrophe that you predicted never happened. And the apes that you left behind on the surface to die became man.

Trivia
====================================
This story had the working title The Sea Silurians.

The scene involving the Master watching Clangers was a last-minute addition, added because the first episode was missing ninety seconds of the standard run time.

This is one of only nine televised stories in the history of Doctor Who not to feature the TARDIS.

This is one of two stories where the Third Doctor utters the full line "I reversed the polarity of the neutron flow". The other is in The Five Doctors.
