"Oh ho. That must have roasted up your power cells, yeah? Time was, four Daleks could have conquered the world. But instead you're skulking away, hidden in the dark, experimenting. All of which results in you." ~ The Tenth Doctor

"New York City. If aliens had to come to Earth, no wonder they came here." ~ Tallulah

"I know that one man can change the course of history. Right idea in the right place at the right time is all it takes. I've got to believe it's possible." ~ The Tenth Doctor

Tallulah: What the hell are you two clowns doing?
Martha: Even if the Doctor stops Dalekanium this place is still gonna get hit. Great big bolt of lightning, electricity all down the building. Connect this to the lift and they get zapped.
Tallulah: Oh my god, that could work.

Trivia
====================================
This is the first new series episode to use the classic ...of the Daleks title format. (So far the only new series episodes to have this format are the Eleventh Doctor episodes Victory of the Daleks, and Asylum of the Daleks. A Tenth Doctor novel, Prisoner of the Daleks, followed.

Throughout the episode, Thay, Jast and Caan's recognition codes switch.

In the last episode and this one a Dalek has a unique symbol which is not of the Cult, but looks like Dalek Caan's symbol without the middle identification line and dot. It also has a deep voice like Caan's. So the identity of this Dalek is unknown, as all of the Cult have specified codes.

It is revealed in this story that Skaro was destroyed in a 'great war', presumably the Last Great Time War. In Remembrance of the Daleks the Doctor destroys Skaro in his seventh incarnation. If the Doctor was correct, perhaps the Time War started in the Doctor's Seventh Incarnation. Perhaps it started even earlier: some fans and commentators, including Russell T. Davies, speculate that the Fourth Doctor's interference in Dalek evolution formed part of the Time War. (Genesis of the Daleks) A simpler explanation, however, was that Dalek Caan was referring to the Dalek civil war. (Remembrance of the Daleks)
