"What's the Defabricator? Okay. Defabricator. Does exactly what it says on the tin. Am I naked in front of millions of viewers? Ladies, your viewing figures just went up." ~ Jack Harkness

"Oh, Lynda with a Y. Sweet little Lynda. I'm not just some passing traveller. No stupid little transmat gets inside my ship. That beam is fifteen million times more powerful. Which means, this isn't just a game. There's something else going on. Well, here's the latest update from the Big Brother house. I'm getting out, I'm going to find my friends. And then I'm going to find you." ~ The Ninth Doctor

The 9th Doctor: I moisturize.

"It's a transmat beam. Not a disintegrator, a secondary transmat system. People don't get killed in the games. They get transported across space. Doctor, Rose is still alive." ~ Captain Jack Harkness

The Doctor: No! 'Cause this is what I'm gonna do. I'm gonna rescue her. I'm gonna save Rose Tyler from the middle of the Dalek fleet, and then I'm gonna save the Earth. And then—just to finish off—I'm gonna wipe every last stinking Dalek out of the sky!
Dalek: But you have no weapons, no defenses, no plan.
The Doctor: Yeah! And doesn't that scare you to death.

Trivia
====================================
The scene where Jack is disrobed was originally filmed full-length, with rear nudity. According to Barrowman, this shot was vetoed by the BBC. This was their only complaint of the first season.

This is the first televised story since Frontier in Space to feature the Daleks without having "Dalek" in the episode's title, other than the brief appearance of a single Dalek in The Five Doctors.

This is the second Dalek story to feature a human servant of the Daleks called "controller" betraying the Daleks and committing self-sacrifice to help the Doctor, the first being Day of the Daleks.

This is the last episode until The Beast Below in which David Tennant does not make an appearance.

The lock to the Big Brother house features the first named use of a Deadlock seal in the series.
